For Engineers & Technicians

Tronix Team is a fun way to spend time with middle-school students doing something that is fascinating to them. It's an opportunity for us adults to relive our childhood adventures with science and technology. It's a thrill for us to see what the kids can accomplish with a little coaching and opportunity.

Many of our projects begin with students using tape and stickers to lay out a circuit design on a copper board. Next, we dip the board into an acid bath to etch away the extra copper, leaving only the desired pattern. Students then drill holes and insert parts and solder them. Typically a project will extend over a four to six week period.

Tronix Team is always in need of volunteers with an engineering or electronics background. We also need field trip opportunities at industrial facilities in the Minneapolis area.
